Local Tastes of the City Tours will be passing around the City's romance with special tours for the month of February.
In the morning and afternoon, we'll start in the most obvious part of San Francisco for romance, North Beach/Little Italy. While in North Beach you will experience some of the best coffee in the city. As part of the tour patrons will get to watch the bean roasting process as well as taste their delicious cappuccinos. Other delicious treats to be sampled on the tour include Award-Winning chocolates (as well as how it is made), breads baked in 130-year-old ovens, exquisite pastries, local olive oils, a variety of specialty meats, and more, your senses and your taste buds will come alive.
After enjoying some delicious foods the tour moves on to explore the area known as the center of the Beat Generation. Visits the areas where famous Beat writers like Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac came together to write and rap about the times.
For every part of your Valentine's experience, we'll not only try the food, we'll frequently see how it's made. From having great coffee, to truffles, bread and pastries, special deli treats, to olive oil, you'll have all of the knowledge to create special moments for your Valentine long after Valentine's Day is over.
Afterward, you'll know why romance and San Francisco are one and the same. In the evening, we'll put you in the right mood, so we'll stroll through the back streets of Chinatown and North Beach by twilight, including tasting dim sum from one of the oldest bakeries in Chinatown. We'll delve into Chinese mysticism and culture, as we explore local sculpture and architecture. Tea is to Chinatown as pizza is to North Beach and we'll try both as we explore the heart of the beat generation. We'll uncover their hidden secrets known only by intrepid locals. You'll be astonished by the new finds in secret alcoves.
